My school is a friggin pressure-cooker, the pressure to be the best is tremendous. No wonder why the majority of american teens are so overweight. They should be there to support you because this is your project, not theirs. It is true we teens need more free time. I’ve been super tired lately because I’m so used to sleeping early.
I am a freshman and I get about 6-8 hours of homework each night therefore I only get a few hours of sleep each night. Like Bree said above, school and homework is important to me but once there is too much assigned it gets way to stressful. Then the most hours of sleep that I mainly get is about 5-6 hours which is not good for a 14 year old. (but sometimes I even have to stay at school for lessons until 18:30. Homework is actually meant for the teachers to see if you understand the content that they’re teaching you.
In the last few months, I’ve had 4 panic attacks from the stress of multiple, and quite large projects and essays all being issued and due at the same time (which is usually within a week). I wake up so worn out the next day just to do it all over again. By the time you could ask you’re teacher for help, the assignment would be late and you could only get a quarter credit anyway. ” As a kid who avoids the high pressure to do drugs, I am screwed.
This might sound nice, but it’s not. My friend sent me this text “Some people say high school bores them. In junior year, each of my daughter’s seven teachers told us at Back to School Night the child must do two hours of homework PER CLASS. This leads to procrastination, because I do not want to spend that much time, and when the breaks roll around I am loaded down with year – long projects. When I fail test or do bad I feel really bad, because I study but I hardly have energy due to lack of sleep I feel like crying & I feel like I’m stupid.

Hi my name is Damian Wigfall and i a high school student and i think that we shouldnt get homework because most high school studens have to work. The three to four hours a night I’m told is typical is way too much. I’m overwhelmed this is my typical night. But I hardly ever get time to pay these activities any attention; instead of being artistic, as I long to be, I have to waste my life away writing up linear equations. Again, *your* attitude is how you instill work ethic in your daughter.
After school, I used to be on two sports teams. I go home i take a shower, then i go straight to my homework. Looking back on it when I see my eight year old brother doing second grade work, I want to go right back to my old teachers and ask them why. Each operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) has 5 levels of difficulty and challenging exercises for each level. I go home with homework in 5 out of my 7 classes, daily. It’s because “homework must be given in order to reinforce what is learned in class” no.
